Following a successful fifth annual Pianist of the Year contest, its organizers, the New York Café and PETROF, are announcing a break.
Every year for the past five years pianists have gathered to show their talent before a professional jury and audience. After the last amazing finale in the beginning of April 2017, the organisers and jury have agreed that it is a time for a well deserved short break. The competition has built a strong name for itself in the past five years and it is a good time for all pariticipating parties to stop, recharge batteries and also wait for new talents.
The popular Pianist of the Year competition has roots in Hungary where it was held for the first time in 2012 in the renowned New York Café of the Boscolo Budapest hotel. The first year of the competition in the Czech Republic took place between February and March 2013 in the Boscolo Prague hotel organized by the resident New York Café and PETROF. The final round of the last two annual competitions took place in the Suk Hall of the Rudolfinum in Prague.
This November, PETROF opened a new business and cultural centre - the PETROF Gallery. By renovating an old production hall, PETROF has built one of the biggest showrooms in Europe with a great offer of their pianos, multi purpose hall for five hundred people and a cozy PETROF Café with great atmosphere.
